Then again, she hasn’t ever wasted much of anything.

She recently graduated magna cum laude with a degree in sustainability, so she knows about preserving resources – and wants to help others do the same.

ASU women's gymnast Morgan Steigerwalt excels in her sport, particularly on the balance beam, despite being deaf in one ear.

"My family's always treated me the same. They've never made me feel like I had a disability," says Steigerwalt, who lost hearing when she was nine months old.

The ASU women's gymnastics team will compete at home against University of Oklahoma at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 12.

The Gym Devils look to use the energy they generated during their intrasquad meet as momentum heading into the season.

On Dec. 7, the entire team filled the John Spini Gymnastics Practice Facility with cheers as their teammates nailed high-difficulty skills. Twelve out of the 14 Sun Devils competed with junior veteran Samantha Seaman competing all-around.

The Arizona State women's gymnastics team qualified for its 31st NCAA Regional in 32 seasons, March 26, earning the fifth seed at the Salt Lake City Regional. ASU will join No. 1 seed Nebraska, host Utah, Minnesota, Iowa State, and San Jose State at the Jon Huntsman Center at 6 p.m., April 7.

The Gym Devils begin Regional competition on beam, followed by a bye round, floor, vault, a second bye round and finish the meet on bars.

The Arizona State women's gymnastics team finished in sixth place at the Pac-12 Championships, its best finish since 2009.

“I was happy that we fought to come back. We stumbled on bars big time, had to count a 9.0," said head coach John Spini. "Then the kids just didn’t give up, they fought back and luckily another team missed and we moved into that second position."
